The Origins
The original version of Final Fantasy IV was available in the US only for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System console. It was titled Final Fantasy II and was the first chapter in the series that included Active Time Battle System. Later, Nintendo released several other versions of the game for PSP, PlayStation, and Game Boy Advance (GBA). While these titles are quite difficult to find and play today, you still can easily play Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, a sequel of the original FFIV that was released for PC, PSP, Nintendo Wii, iOS, and Android.
What’s New?
The remastered FFIV Pixel features a bunch of improvements, including fully redrawn visuals and rearranged soundtrack. According to Nintendo, the new OST version was created by the master Nobuo Uematsu. The gameplay features updated controls, a modernized UI, auto-battle mode, and other convenience tweaks.
More On The Way
FFIV remaster follows the June 28 remasters of the first three chapters. Nintendo also promised to release a remaster of FFV and FFVI but didn’t specify the release dates.
