New Pokemon Game Series Coming Late 2022
- 21 Mar 2022
On February 27, Pokemon Presents announced a brand new mainline game. It will follow the 2019 “Pokémon Sword and Shield.” The title is scheduled to hit Nintendo Switch in late 2022. Don’t forget to watch the super-dramatic trailer on YouTube and read on for more details.
Cool Again!
As you can see in the trailer, the visuals of the upcoming title will be quite similar to “Pokémon Legends: Arceus.” However, the trailer doesn’t demonstrate any actual gameplay, so we can’t tell if it will be another open-world Pokemon or not. Let it be whatever, but not another “Pokemon Let’s Go”! Scrolling down to the YouTube description under the video, you can read “Welcome to the open world of Pokemon,” but does it mean a real open world? For example, “Arceus,” which was promoted as an open-world title, isn’t technically the one, so we expect something like that with a “TLOZ: Breath of the Wild” flavor.
As for the character roster, the trailer teases Drifloon, Combee, Meowth, Magnemite, Lucario, Hoppip, and, of course, Pikachu along with some other creatures. All the newly teased Pokemon haven’t been named yet as they belong to the 9nth generation. Most probably, they will include Sprigatito (a Grass Cat that needs a lot of attention), Quaxly (a serious Duckling Pokemon), and Fuecoco (a fire-type dinosaur that performs all the attacks at a unique pace).
Coming Soon?
While we don’t know the exact release date for the new title, it’s already clear that several minor updates are coming to “Arceus,” “Diamond and Pearl,” “Pokémon Unite,” “Pokémon Masters EX,” and “Pokemon Go.” What do you expect the upcoming game to be like? Let’s talk about it in the comments and don’t forget to share this announcement with other Pokemon fans on social media. We will publish the latest Pokemon broadcast updates as soon as they come out.
