Report Scam Apps on App Store

Users can now press “Report a Problem” whenever they suspect the app is a scam on the App Store. It will identify the problem and help Apple to remove it. This is not the first time that the App Store provides such a service. However, they removed the tool years ago, and now it comes with updates. You can select the option “Report a scam or fraud” in the menu.

How It Used to Be

App Store returns the listings of personal apps. Now they come with the “Report a Problem” section in the drop-down menu. This button makes the whole procedure simple. Before that, to report the scam, you had to scroll down and find the bottom of the Apps tab. The company redirected you to their website where you had to re-sign.

Afterward, you had to search for the appropriate section to report the problem. Yet, there were no direct indicators on how to report scams. You had to do it in “Report suspicious activity.” Once you picked it, you were redirected to the Apple Support team. But, hold your horses, this was not it. You still had to get in touch with the team. Not everyone could report the problem; only those who paid money and fallen for scams could complain.

The Way It Is Now

Nowadays, you can easily find “Report a Problem.” To notify the company about suspicious or scam apps, you don’t need to pay anything. The option is visible to everyone. The scam app may be reported before it takes money from trustful users. However, the question is still whether Apple is going to act immediately after receiving the reports. Apple is actively trying to improve its own safety, hiring ASI investigators and moderators.

What do you think about the new Apple policy? Have you ever reported suspicious apps to the store? Tell us your story in the comments below. If you didn’t make any reports, are you going to use the new service in case you notice fishy activity?
