In the realm of iconic games, few titles hold the same stature as Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. With its engaging storyline and memorable gameplay, the game has secured its place in the hearts of gamers worldwide. Therefore, it came as no surprise when Ubisoft announced a remake in 2020 to cater to the expectations of nostalgic gamers and newcomers alike.

The announcement of the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was made in 2020 with a release date set for 2021, but unfortunately, it did not come to fruition. The remake has been postponed several times and even transferred studios from Ubisoft's Pune and Mumbai locations to Montreal. Despite assurances from Ubisoft that the project is still ongoing, fans became concerned when all preorders were canceled and refunded in November 2022.

Ubisoft made another announcement today stating that while the project hasn't been cancelled, it has essentially been abandoned. Producer Jean-Francois Naud explained that they are currently in the planning stages of the remake, which involves analyzing feedback from the community and determining their own approach to creating the game.

Ultimately, Ubisoft's decision to start the remake from scratch showcases their commitment to deliver a product that meets the high standards set by Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. As the gaming world eagerly awaits more news regarding the remake, one can only hope that the final result will be a worthy tribute to the beloved classic.
